The Creator created you.
1 Peter 2:11 calls us strangers and sojourners on the Earth, but we’re not here by accident. Each of us has significant worth and unique purpose. Whether it seems big or small, please know your role in God’s plan matters. I mean really, it mattered enough for Him create you out of the abyss.
For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” – Psalm 139:13-14 (ESV)
God didn’t give you a life just to make other people feel better about theirs. You’re not insignificant, and your work isn’t menial. Maybe you haven’t “arrived” yet. It’s okay, just enjoy the journey. God knows what’s coming, and He has no intentions of leading you astray. Listen for His voice, His comfort, and His direction. Cast your burdens on Him and throw away your fears and insecurities like the trash they are.
“Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” – Luke 12:32 (ESV)
Though you, like the rest of us Jesus-followers, are just a sojourner on the Earth, you have a purpose while you’re here. God wants to bring Heaven to Earth through you, through us. He wants to use you and your skills to glorify Himself and tell others the Good News of His kingdom of love. I want to challenge you to seek God for clarity on His purpose for your life, and ask Him to show you how to take one step in that direction. I also want to welcome you to embrace the intentionality of your calling as a loved and fearless sojourner.
