Here’s a question I’ve been wrestling with lately:
Does the power of God reveal itself in my life on a daily basis?
We Christians certainly speak a lot of words. We talk about God, about our churches, about our love for Him, about His kingdom… But all that speaking doesn’t mean we’re living Kingdom life.
“For the Kingdom of God is not in word but in power.” 1 Corinthians 4:20
His power at work, welcome in our lives — that’s the essence of Kingdom living. His power creates love where none exists. It forgives when forgiveness isn’t easy, and even sometimes when it isn’t desired. It sees people change, even people who didn’t believe change possible. It is aware of needs and ready to meet them. His power creates security from insecurity, and hope from hopelessness. It gives wisdom when we lack, and comfort when we are distressed.
His power is unlike any other. And we so often live as though we don’t need it. Lord, make us more aware.
Two questions to ask yourself today:
1) What do I need the Power of God for today?
2) Am I living in His Kingdom or have I created my own, and by my own word, shut myself off from Him and made myself queen?
