December is full of light. Ironically, it’s the month that contains the least light on its own. We find days get shorter and shorter until it can feel like you woke up to night.
Jesus’ birth was marked by an incredible light, a star that could be seen brighter than all others and followed to where He lay.
He is the light of the world, and He has put that light in us to draw others to us. We should be dazzling. We were once part of the darkness but now we glow. Now we see clearly by the light in our eyes what the world is after. I love the urging Paul gives the Ephesians,
“Walk as children of the light…” Ephesians 5:8
Walk as if you were raised in it, bathed in it, as if it’s all you know. Mark the coming of Christ wherever you stand. You are no longer darkness. You can’t blend in. Have you ever tried to hide a light in a pitch black room? Be seen! And don’t fear the darkness.
