My church recently got involved supporting The Generous Garden Project, a nonprofit fighting hunger by growing, harvesting and coordinating the delivery of fresh grown produce to agencies in Greenville, SC.
They give way tons (53 so far, actually) of fresh food to the needy and partner with local organizations and communities to teach others how to grow fresh produce for themselves in a sustainable way.
They need help and support, so check out the volunteer opportunities and The Generous Garden Supper Club, which asks members of the community to give up one restaurant meal per month to help feed the hungry. You can set up monthly $20 donations once and not have to remember to get online and give each month.
Jesus often met people’s physical needs before meeting their spiritual ones – and we can do the same.
Here are some pics from what we’ve been doing!
