Devo: Don’t Waste Your Life

By Anna Vanhoose

Did you know that the average time spent on social media sites such as Youtube, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram per month is 20 hours and 33 minutes?

Say what?!

As summer starts, it can be easy to meet these statistics while we allow time for our brains and busy lives to rest. And we should rest. Rest is good after times of hardwork and demanding schedules. But it’s important that we don’t let ourselves become couch potatoes or sleep-until-noon potatoes.

We weren’t created to go through seasons of coasting through life. We were created to live each day full of passion and peace in the presence of the one who made us.

Find out what it is that stirs your affection for the Lord and immerse yourself in it! It could be as easy as hiking mountains and exploring new places. It could be meeting with a group of friends over coffee to encourage and build each other up or being around family. And it could be volunteering with a local organization and getting others involved.  Whatever it is that makes you feel passionate about the love of the Lord do it!  I’m sure you already know what it is, too.

“It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, He had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone.” Ephesians 1:11-12 (MSG)

Let’s live gloriously today!
